INTRODUCING BLACK SWANS STUDIOS

A Creative Coalition of Like-Minded Needlework Artisans

We are committed to providing opportunities for a modern reimagining of unique, beautiful, and informative needlework treasures from our past.

We focus on sharing collected knowledge and skills with today’s needle workers through multiple learning channels.

We believe in honoring the skills, methods, and styles of needlework from our history while encouraging today’s interpretation and creative application.

If you missed our inaugural educational event in March of 2024, we warmly invite you to join us for an encore this Fall, featuring the same gorgeous projects on November 18th - 20th, 2024, in Asheville NC.

Our November event will feature as its main offering an impressive museum quality band sampler from 1747 in dazzling silks of green, gold, blue, and berry hues. While the reproduction of this stunning sampler will be on the forefront, we are equally excited to offer a modern interpretation in the form of beautiful and functional three-dimensional needlework smalls.

Join us as we embrace the beauty of needlework in all its dimensions, and you, the needle worker of today.

Registration for the November event will open September 12, 2024 to those on our Black Swans Studios Contact List. Please be sure to add your contact information in the form below.

Black Swans Studios is a thoughtfully founded organization several years in the making. Jackie du Plessis and Kimberly Young invite you to join with them as they give flight to the fledging creative coalition that is Black Swans Studios.
